Q: Why a pre-order sale?

A: We are offering our early supporters the chance to get a bike before we launch our crowdfunding campaign next month. No payment will be taken until the campaign has been successful.
By being one of our pre-campaign backers you are getting an exclusive chance to reserve a foldie at a reduced cost (with over a 30% saving) and will also be the first in line to receive a shiny new foldie bike. Thank you for your support and for helping to bring the foldie to life.

Q: How much does the foldie weigh?

A: The foldie is one of the lightest folding electric bicycles in the world and weighs in at just 14.5KG (Including the battery and motor) making it super easy to carry under one arm.

Q: How long does the foldie battery last?

A: The battery inside the foldie is built to last on average up to 50 km (30 mi) with it's highly efficient torque sensing motor.

Q: How much weight can the foldie handle?

A: The foldie has been rigorously tested and can easily handle 100KG of weight.

Q: I can't see the battery - where is it?

A: We think that batteries tend to look rather ugly on traditional e-bikes. Thats why we have hidden the Samsung battery away in the seat post.

Q: Can I still ride my foldie once the power runs out?

A: Of course! If you run out of power, you can cycle as you would do with a regular bicycle.

Q: Can the battery be removed?

A: Yes. As the battery is in the seat post you can easily slide it out when replacing or if you ever wanted to charge it separately.

Q: How is foldie delivered and does it come assembled?

A: foldie comes delivered safely packaged with instructions and requires very minimal assembly. We will also produce an instructional video before they are dispatched.
However, if you would prefer not to pickup a spanner, we recommend that you visit your local bike shop to get all parts tightened and thoroughly checked.

Q: What kind of warranty do you offer?

A: All foldie bikes and batteries come with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. Should you encounter some production related problem in that timeframe, simply contact our customer support and we will take care of it. Our warranty excludes normal wear and tear on parts such as tyres, chains, brakes, cables and gearwheels in situations where there are no assembly or material defects.

Q: What is your returns policy?

A: We are so confident that you will love your new foldie, that we offer you a 14 days money back guarantee after you have received it.
However, if you decided to return it then your foldie must be in a new and re-sellable condition.

Q: What about spare parts? Can any bike shop assist me?

A: The foldie battery is custom made, so you will be able to buy spare batteries from us online. The rest of the components are fairly standard, meaning that you can upgrade / customise your bike as you desire with other parts either from us or your local bike shop. Please share your custom foldies with our online community.

Q: Do I need a licence to ride my foldie?

No. Our bikes are made 100% street legal. The foldie has a 220W motor which is legal in the EU and around the world.
By default, it is limited according to EN15194 and has a top speed of 25 km/h (15,5 mph). This means that the motor will only help you up to 25km/h. It is possible to change these settings with some reprogramming, however, foldie bikes ltd will not be held accountable for anything resulting from the reprogramming of our bikes. The customer accepts full responsibility for any aftermarket customisations.

Q: Can I test ride a foldie bike?

A: At this stage test rides are only available in Bristol. Contact us by email for a test ride.

Q: I'm an EU VAT registered company outside of the UK; can I place an Ex-VAT order?

A: Yes. Please first create an account then contact with your company details. The team will then validate your account and enable your company to place orders with VAT deducted. This will be calculated at the checkout page.

Q: My country isn't listed in the checkout page. Can I still order a bike?

A: If your country isn't listed in the checkout page then please drop us an email at and we will see if it's possible to ship a bike to you from foldie HQ.
